Theft from Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

Over the last two weeks the following Theft From Motor Vehicle have been reported to us:

Great North Road, stolen number plates, on 21/5/26 between 2pm-7pm, crime ref number 41/47063/26

Parkhouse Court, stolen wallet, between 6pm on 23/5/26 and 1.34pm on 25/5/26, crime ref 41/47966/26

Stockbreach Close, smashed passenger window and £10 stolen, between 6.30pm on 27/5/26 and 6am on the 28/5/26, crime ref 41/49214/26

Roe Green Lane, Wallet and Raybans sunglasses stolen, between 8.30pm on 27/5/26 and 8.11am on 28/5/26, crime ref 41/49229/26

Hillfield, stolen injector coil, spanner set and spark plugs, broken front window, between 5.30am on 26/5/26 and 7.10pm on 28/5/26, crime reference 41/49495/26

If you have any information relating to this crime please contact Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the relevant crime reference number provided above.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers and steering wheel locks.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
