Dear Residents, We are writing to kindly remind everyone to park considerately within the local area and to be mindful of the impact that parking can have on neighbours and the wider community.
We fully understand that many households have multiple vehicles and that parking space is at a premium, particularly during evenings and weekends. We recognise that this can sometimes make it difficult to find suitable parking close to your property. However, we ask that all residents make every effort to park responsibly and with consideration for others at all times.
Please ensure that vehicles are not parked in a way that obstructs driveways, dropped kerbs, pavements, or access points. Parking on pavements can create difficulties for pedestrians, especially those with prams, wheelchairs, or mobility issues. In addition, it is important that roads remain clear enough to allow access for emergency vehicles, refuse collection, and other essential services.
We would also ask residents to avoid parking in a manner that causes unnecessary inconvenience to neighbours, such as blocking visibility at junctions, parking too close to corners, or taking up more than one space where marked bays are in place. A small amount of consideration can make a significant difference to the safety and accessibility of our streets.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind residents that any vehicle-related businesses operating from residential properties must be conducted in accordance with relevant regulations. This includes ensuring that such businesses are properly registered with Trading Standards and the local council. Operating a business from a residential address without the appropriate permissions or registrations may result in further action being taken.
Our aim is not to cause concern, but to promote a safe, accessible, and respectful environment for everyone living in the area. By working together and showing consideration for one another, we can help maintain a positive community for all residents.
We appreciate your continued cooperation and understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Neighbourhood Policing Team
