Prolific Shoplifter Jailed & Banned from West Wickham

Prolific shoplifter Carl GORTON has been taken off our streets and sentenced to six months in prison, thanks to a fantastic joint effort between the local Safer Neighbourhood Team and the West Wickham business community.

Gorton was convicted of multiple shoplifting offences after a pattern of targeting retailers.  The conviction simply would not have been possible without the incredible support of our local businesses in West Wickham. By sharing vital information and providing high-quality CCTV, shop owners and staff helped us build a watertight case against Gorton.

As well as the six month sentence, Gorton has been issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) to manage his behaviour in the long term, which will begin the moment he leaves prison.

Under the strict conditions of his CBO, Gorton is:

BANNED from entering West Wickham, Hayes, and Coney Hall

BANNED from entering any Boots, Greggs, and Tesco stores nationwide.

BANNED from wearing any item in a retail premise which is intended to conceal his identity. 

If Gorton breaches any of these conditions, it is a criminal offence and he will be arrested immediately.
