…and a whole host more!
Please note, this event will be filmed and photographed which may be used by South Wales Police for marketing or promotional purposes. We’ve also answered some of your FAQs below.
Entry This is a FREE event, giving you the chance to meet our officers and staff and learn about what we do. You don’t need to bring any form of ID. It takes place at South Wales Police headquarters, Cowbridge Road, Coychurch Lower, Bridgend, CF31 3SU.
Getting here From the west (Neath/Swansea) you can use the M4, leaving at junction 37 and following signs for Bridgend. From the east (Cardiff) you can use the M4, leaving at junction 35 and following signs for Bridgend. You can also access our headquarters via the A48 (from Cowbridge/Barry), the A473 (from Pencoed/Llanharan) and the A4106 (from Porthcawl).
Public transport It takes about 20 minutes to walk from Bridgend railway station to our headquarters. There are direct trains to Cardiff, Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot, Barry, Llantwit Major, Pontyclun, Llanharan, Pencoed and Maesteg, as well as further afield. Bridgend is also served by several local bus routes.
Arrival times The Family Fun Day runs from 10am to 4pm. However, please note that final entry for the event will be at 3:30pm (and even this won’t give you much time to check out the attractions on offer).
Parking Limited parking is available on Kingsway in Bridgend Industrial Estate, CF31 3RY (what3words: ///shark.prom.stale):
There will be a variety of stalls on site for you to purchase food and drink. The Police Learning Centre cafeteria will also be open. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drink (please, no alcohol), and we’d encourage you to bring your own bottles of water – particularly if the weather is warm.
Dogs Unfortunately, we don’t allow you to bring your own dogs (though assistance dogs are allowed). This is because we have our police dogs working on site as part of the Family Fun Day.
Smoking/vaping Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited across the whole site.
Heritage Centre tours These take place throughout the day, but need to be booked in advance. Email policeheritage@south-wales.police.uk to book.
Neurodiversity Between 10am and 10.30am, no sirens or lights will be used. There will also be a designated quiet room in Zone 3 which will be available all day.
Other facilities We have toilets and a parent-and-child room available.
Video and Photography This event will be filmed and photographed which may be used by South Wales Police for marketing or promotional purposes.
Hope to see you there !
