Hello all, Following on from our first monthly update in April, which was well received, please see below for an update from us in relation to Community Policing across the electoral wards of Kinross-shire and a large portion of Almond and Earn. As before, some of our duties get posted about on ‘Police Scotland Tayside’ social media accounts and we also provide reports for our 8 community councils, to include in their meetings which cover incidents of note and Police activity in the specific areas. Below is a flavour of some of our activities in May - COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Joining the Milnathort Bike bus that encourages children cycling to Milnathort Primary School.Attending Glenfarg & Fossoway Community Council meetings.During the week 18th – 23rd May, which was Dementia Action Week, we held numerous targeted visits at local establishments including sheltered housing, care homes, retirement cafés as well as holding public drop ins in relation to the Herbert Protocol. The sessions were well attended and officers handed out the forms as well as leaflets about The Herbert Protocol. The Herbert Protocol is a UK wide recognised scheme that focuses on people living with dementia who may be at risk of going missing. The main aim is for the Herbert Protocol form to be completed in advance so that significant information is recorded and readily available for Police in the event of someone going missing.Specific patrols in Bridge of Earn, Kinross and Abernethy, targeting areas where complaints have been made of anti-social behaviour. As well as this, we have held discussions with establishments who are experiencing anti-social behaviour to provide advice on how to prevent and deter the issues. With this in mind, we have continued to engage with several youths in the area when conducting our patrols. Tasked visits to licensed premises in Bridge of Earn, Milnathort and Kinross about late licences granted for the World Cup, providing support and advice. The use of said bikes is not permitted on the trail and is illegal. It is dangerous to people using the trail and wildlife who live there.
