We’ve recently received a number of reports from residents about cold callers in the area. While many callers are legitimate, some may use high-pressure tactics or attempt to mislead people.

Please take a moment to read the following advice to help keep yourself and your neighbours safe:

🔹 Do not feel pressured
Reputable businesses will not rush you into making a decision on your doorstep. Take your time and don’t agree to anything you’re unsure about.

🔹 Ask for identification
Always ask callers for ID and check it carefully. If in doubt, do not engage and close the door.

🔹 Do not invite strangers into your home
Unless you are expecting them or have verified who they are, keep the conversation at the door.

🔹 Be cautious about sharing information
Never provide personal details, bank information, or sign documents on the spot.

🔹 Use a door chain or window
Add an extra layer of security when speaking to unknown visitors.

🔹 Look out for vulnerable neighbours
Please check in on elderly or vulnerable residents who may be more at risk.

🔹 Report suspicious behaviour
If you feel uncomfortable or believe someone is acting suspiciously, report it to police via 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.
