BIKE MARKING EVENT - THIS SATURDAY
This Saturday , Local officers together with the KINGSMEAD MINI POLICE team will be holding a BIKE MARKING EVENT.
What is Bike Marking ?
Bike marking is a security measure where your bicycle is tagged with a unique, traceable code and registered on a national database. It acts as a powerful visual deterrant to thieves and allows police to return recovered bikes to their rightful owners.
How it works ?
- your bike is marked with unique code using tamper - resistant labels
- the unique code together with owners details and bike details are placed onto a national database.
- stickers are placed on the bike frame to show that the bike is registered

Key Benefits
- Visibility to the police - if your bike stolen and recovered, officers can scan the code to instantly identify you as the owner
- Second hand checks - buyers or bike shops can check the database to ensure that they are not buying a stolen bike
- Lower insurance rates - many specialized cycle insurers require or reward security marking.

If you would like you bike registered and marked then please come down to the Bike Marking event this Saturday.
This event is free and will take place from 1pm till 3pm , and will take place on the grass area by H&M / SNAP 24-7 FITNESS (BARONS QUAY) and there is a road access road to get to the area.
PLUS - BIKE RESCUE (Repairs and Customisation) https://orlo.uk/tFLIU
will be joining us at the event to provide on the spot free bicycle safety checks, and do on the day minor repairs for free, and be there to answer any questions or to provide advice for people.
