Commendation for excellent work |

Abbey Road Safer Neighbourhood Team have received a commendation from Metropolitan Police senior management regarding excellent work by safeguarding a vulnerable resident on the ward, who was subject of cocooning (where by a vulnerable persons home is taken over by criminals who will use the property for crime and ASB) The statement of senior management as follows;
"Over an extended period, officers demonstrated outstanding dedication in safeguarding a highly vulnerable victim, regularly attending the address, building trust, and working tirelessly to support person's welfare despite repeated challenges, including refusal of support and limited evidential opportunities. Officers' efforts to engage partners (including Westminster City Council, social services, healthcare providers, and specialist units) reflect excellent multi-agency collaboration.
Despite significant legal and safeguarding complexities, officers remained focused and determined, ultimately securing a closure order on the address. Officers professionalism in navigating these challenges, whilst continuing to protect the wider community from associated crime and anti-social behaviour, is particularly commendable.
Officers work did not end there; officers ensured the victim was supported through the closure process, assisted with relocation, and continued to safeguard him during further vulnerabilities, ultimately contributing to a safer and more stable outcome.
This case highlights officers' resilience, compassion, and commitment to neighbourhood policing at its very best. Officers have made a tangible difference to both the individual involved and the wider community, and officers are fully deserving of formal recognition." | ||
