Here’s a quick roundup from your local policing team of some of the work we have been doing over the couple of weeks in the Birchills & Leamore Ward from your Designated Neighbourhood Police officer PC Rowberry- The team has held a Cuppa with a Copper at Sainsburys in Reedswood Retail Park whereby we got the chance to speak to numerous members of the community.Police have attended numerous incidents on the area whereby arrests have been made in Blakenall and Stevenson Square for Theft and Threats to Cause Criminal Damage.Officers have visited schools and conducted knife crime inputs at Goldsmith Primary Academy and Edgar Stammers Primary School.Police Seargent Townill attended the ‘Cradle to Career Focus Group’ in Blakenall.Numerous high visibility foot patrols have been conducted by officers in the Beechdale area around Stevenson Square with numerous members of the public spoken with about issues in the area.Due to the amount of concern and calls police have received around Sainsburys on the Reedswood Retail Park, officers have patrolled regularly around this area.Crime figures have been analysed for Sainsburys Reedswood and Police have discovered a large decrease in crime as per reporting statistics. Upcoming team events- Blakenall NPT are conducting a ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ session at 11:00am until 12:00pm at Sainsburys Reedswood.Blakenall & Bloxwich NPT are Preparing for the ‘Neighbourhood Week of Action’ starting the 8th of June 2026.More events may be planned and mentioned on the Blakenall NPT Twitter account. General Advise Around Burglary and Domestic Violence- Ensure your doors are locked when you are not present in your house and if you have the option of fitting CCTV or a camera that records this can help as a deterrent for crime and helpful with evidence gathering if the worst case happens.
