Trentham and Hanford - Break in to garages Burrington Dr, Suspicious incident New Inn Lane, Cold Callers, School parking concerns and community updates

I hope you all had a nice weekend. I have been off for my days off and returned to duty today (08/06/26) and will now be on duty for the next 5 days.

Towards the end of this e-mail I have put the dates, times and locations for this weeks Police Street Surgeries. Please note I have had to change the time for tomorrows surgery at Janson st. 

Break in to garages – Burrington Dr. 

We have received a report that two garages had been broken into on Burrington Dr. This has occurred on 04/06/26 at approximately 14:04 hours. I have been to the location today and completed scene enquiries. The incident occurred between the two blue arrows on this picture. 

We are currently establishing if anything has been taken or damaged etc. If anyone has any CCTV, Ring doorbell footage or any other information that may help our enquires, please reply to this message and I will be in touch – thank you. 

Suspicious incident – New Inn Lane 

We have received a report that on 03/06/26 at approximately 03:35am a male has been seen entering the rear garden and side of a property on New Inn Lane. We believe that no attempt to gain access to the property is thought to of been made, and nothing has been reported as damaged or been taken. The incident occurred between the two lanes on this map.

Cold Callers

Today 08/06/2026 I have visited residents who made me aware that cold callers had attended their properties recently and charged excessive money for very poor or little to no work. We are investigating these matters, supporting the victims and I we will be linking in with Trading Standards. 

Please do not have business from cold callers. If you would like work completing on your property, please do research by asking friends, family and neighbours for recommendations and obtain at least 3 quotes from 3 different companies to ensure you are paying the right price. 

Should you have any concerns about cold callers, please report these to the Police by calling 101 in (non-emergencies) or 999 (in emergencies). 

School Parking 

I have been made aware of Parking concerns at Meadowside, particularly in the morning. I have also been told of a recent ‘near miss’ involving a child at this location. For the safety of children and their families, It is imperative that the parking restrictions around our schools are adhered to at all times. Please do not park, drop off or pick up from Meadowside The parking restrictions at Meadowside are enforced by the Council’s enforcement Team. Therefore today I have made a report to the Council highlighting the concerns. 

This report was made by visiting www.stoke.gov.uk. If you are concerned about parking around our schools, please also complete a report to the Council as this will highlight where we are having our problems and how frequent. 

I have also been made aware of two vehicles that have been seen to be speeding around Allerton Rd at school collection times. 

One of the vehicles has been identified and I have spoken to their driver re their conduct. If anyone is aware of any vehicles that are driving dangerously around our schools, please make a report to the Police. This ensures these incidents are looked into promptly and addressed. 

Today I completed a patrol at the end of the school day at Allerton Rd and I will return as frequently as I can.
