Cultural Quarter Weekly round up |

🌟 Cultural Quarter Weekly Round-Up 🌟🛥️ The beat team kicked off the week at the Riverside Festival, covering Bede Park, Castle Park, and Western Road. It was a fantastic weekend with officers engaging with stallholders and the public. The event passed without any issues, and everyone enjoyed a great atmosphere. 🚔 PS Cross and PC Stewart stopped a vehicle that drew their attention. Checks revealed the driver only held a provisional licence and already had points on it. The passenger, who was also the owner, was not insured on the vehicle, and the car was not displaying L plates. 👮 PC Carpenter and PCSO Brad, while on patrol, stopped a vehicle that raised their suspicions. Enquiries confirmed the driver was not insured. A further search of the vehicle uncovered several bottles of prescription medication in the boot that did not belong to the driver. The medication found is known to be used to enhance other drugs. 🚲 PC Proctor and PCSO Bannatyne seized an illegal e-bike. The rider attempted to evade officers by turning around but made a failed getaway attempt, falling off the bike and getting tangled in the handlebars. After officers secured the bike, the rider briefly fled before returning and attempting to run off again. Safe to say, on this occasion it wasn’t JUST EAT — it was JUST SEIZED. 👮 PCSO Brad and PC Proctor were on patrol on Granby Street when they spotted a male selling nitrous oxide canisters from his vehicle. When challenged, he ran from officers. Following a short foot chase, he was detained and arrested. A Section 18 search was authorised, leading to the discovery of Class A drugs and a quantity of cash, both of which were seized. 🚗 PC Carpenter and PCSO Brad also seized a vehicle that appeared unroadworthy and was deemed too dangerous to be driven on the road. 👮 The team have continued their work following the closure of Lee Circle car park, which had been a hotspot for anti-social behaviour. PC Stewart, working in partnership with Leicester City Council ASB team, secured a closure order through the courts. PC Stewart, PCSO Becs, and PCSO 6571 assisted alongside the council and fire service in boarding up the site. 👀 PS Cross and PC Carpenter located a prolific shoplifter who was breaching conditions prohibiting him from being on Granby Street. The male was arrested. 🚗 Shortly after leaving the station, PC Carpenter observed a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road on Abbey Street. The driver was stopped and reported. Later, while patrolling Museum Square (an ASB hotspot), he conducted a stop search where a male was found in possession of Class B drugs and subsequently arrested.
