Hello Residents We’d like to remind everyone of some simple but effective ways to keep your home, garages, and sheds secure: 🏠 Home Security Always lock your doors and windows, even when you’re at home.Keep keys out of sight and away from doors or windows.Consider installing good-quality locks, alarms, or CCTV.Use timer switches for lights when you’re out to give the impression someone is home.🚗 Garages Keep garages locked at all times, even if you’re only away briefly.Avoid storing valuable items in plain sight.Secure up-and-over doors with additional locks if possible.Mark tools and equipment with your postcode to make them less attractive to thieves.🛠 Sheds & Outbuildings Use strong, good-quality padlocks and hasps.Fit a shed alarm or motion sensor lighting for extra security.Store high-value items, such as bikes and power tools, securely (consider anchor points or chains).Keep gates locked and ensure fencing is in good condition.👀 Working Together Look out for your neighbours and report any suspicious activity.If you see something unusual, please report it via 101, or 999 in an emergency.By taking a few simple steps, we can all help reduce opportunities for crime and keep our community safe.
