Criminal Damage Awareness |
||
|
Good afternoon
Criminal damage is when someone deliberately or recklessly damages property that doesn’t belong to them. This includes things like graffiti, breaking windows, damaging cars, or setting fires. What might seem like a quick or harmless act can actually be a serious offence.
Criminal damage has a real impact on people and communities. Victims are left dealing with repair costs, inconvenience, and distress. Repeated damage can make areas feel unsafe and bring down community pride.
There are serious consequences for those responsible. You could face arrest, a criminal record, fines, or even prison depending on the severity. A criminal record can affect your future, including jobs, travel, and education opportunities.
We can all help prevent this by respecting property, looking out for our communities, and reporting suspicious behaviour. If a crime is happening now, call 999. For non-emergencies, report it via 101.
Think First A moment of poor judgement can lead to long-term consequences. Help keep our community safe and respected.
