Arrest made in Oakengates

On Tuesday 9th June while conducting a hotspot patrol in Oakengates, PC Rolls and PCSO Jervis were alerted to a shoplifting incident.

Both officers responded immediately and quickly located and detained the suspect following a short pursuit.

A search of the individual revealed that they were also in possession of a knife. The suspect was subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of a bladed article before being taken into custody.

This incident highlights the proactive work being carried out by officers on patrol to tackle crime and keep our communities safe.
