Dear Resident, On Tuesday a cannabis factory was discovered at a residential address after concerns were raised by the power company. Police were called and officers attended the address where they found 60 infant cannabis plants being grown in the loft of the property. The plants were seized and removed. On Wednesday two of our PCSOs attended a block of flats after receiving a report from the local housing officers of 2 motorcycles which had been parked in the communal storage area. The two motorcycles were both partially dismantled. The PCSOs conducted checks on the vehicle and were able to locate the vehicle identification numbers. These were checked against the Police National Computer (PNC) which showed both motorcycles had been recently stolen. The motorcycles were removed from the storage area and picked up by our recovery agent.
On Saturday officers from the neighbourhood priority crime team and the Holbrooks neighbourhood team were able to locate and arrest and prolific shoplifter. The male who had been responsible for 12 shoplifting offences at a single store in a couple of weeks. The male was spotted on Foleshill Road and after a small foot chase he was caught and taken into custody. The male has been interviewed, charged and remanded for the offences.
Also, on Saturday officers stopped and seized a vehicle for having no insurance. The officers pulled the vehicle over after the driver was seen to run a red light. Checks were conducted on the police national computer which showed that the driver did not have insurance for the vehicle along with other motoring offences. The vehicle was taken away and the driver was reported for the insurance and Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence
Crime Figures There were Four reported vehicle offences in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward. There were Three Theft from a Motor Vehicle offence reported on Rotherham Road, Holbrook Lane and Whitmore Park Road. The Fourth was a Theft of a motor vehicle offence with a vehicle stolen on Briscoe Road. There was No reported burglary offence in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward. There were no other crimes of note.
