Neighbourhood Policing Week - Northern Quarter

Dear residents, 

Alongside the launch of Neighbourhood Policing Week, yesterday (15 June 2026) saw local neighbourhood officers and partners take to the streets of Manchester as part of a series of targeted days of action in the Northern Quarter. 

With a focus on high visibility policing, tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and acting on community feedback, GMP officers and partners from Manchester City Council continued to carry out patrols, environmental audits and community engagement. 

Acting on strong community intelligence from residents and businesses has directly supported a successful closure order on a known address, as well as multiple arrests across the day for a range of offences including theft, assault and possession of Class A and Class B drugs. 

Other clear operational results from recent activity included 12 arrests and nearly 45 stop searches, with positive outcomes (e.g. weapons and drugs recovered).
