Today we’re focusing on vehicle crime and theft, including shoplifting, which affects residents, workers and local businesses alike.

🚗 Vehicle crime includes:

Theft from motor vehicles (tools, bags, parcels)

Theft of vehicles

Damage linked to ASB (window smashing, tampering)

Prevention tips:

Always lock vehicles and remove valuables

Don’t leave items on display — even briefly

Consider steering wheel locks or tracking devices

🛍️ Theft & shoplifting:

Shoplifting is a criminal offence. Repeated theft impacts local shops, raises prices and can be linked to wider ASB and violence.

If you are a business owner or witness theft:

Call 999 if violence or threats are used

Use 101 or online reporting for non‑emergency theft

Share information where safe to do so — descriptions and timings matter
