Ford Ranger Thefts 🚨

We’ve seen an increase in thefts of Ford Ranger vehicles across the area.

Vehicles are often taken during the overnight or early morning hours from driveways or on-street parking.

In many cases, owners still have possession of their keys, this suggests offenders are likely using electronic devices to gain access, such as signal relay equipment or other keyless entry exploitation techniques.

Prevention Advice (Keyless Vehicle Theft):

Keep keys in a Faraday pouch or signal-blocking box at home to prevent relay attacks

Store keys away from doors and windows, ideally in a different room

Use a steering wheel lock or other visible physical security device

Park in a well-lit, secure location, preferably on a driveway or in a garage

Install CCTV, alarms, or motion sensor lighting to deter offenders

Consider adding a secondary immobiliser or tracking device

Check your vehicle is locked before leaving it, and be alert for signal jamming

Report any suspicious behaviour, especially people checking door handles or vehicles

Call 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergencies
