Crime Prevention Advice To help reduce the risk of similar incidents, please consider the following measures: 1. Remove GPS Equipment Where practicable, remove GPS units and store them securely overnight. Use secure storage such as a Secured by Design accredited cabinet or fixed tool storage unit for added protection. 2. Use PIN Security Activate PIN protection on GPS equipment using a unique code where this feature is available. 3. Mark or Etch Devices Apply forensic asset marking or etch your equipment using a Secured by Design recognised system. Display visible warning labels to deter theft. 4. Keep Vehicles Out of Sight Store tractors and agricultural machinery out of view, ideally inside a locked building or barn when not in use. 5. Record Serial Numbers Keep a record of serial numbers and take clear photographs (and videos if possible) of equipment, including identifying marks. This greatly assists recovery if items are stolen. Always check serial numbers when purchasing second-hand items. 6. Install Security Grilles/Shutters Consider fitting Secured by Design approved grilles or shutters to protect vulnerable or remote farm buildings.
