I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. I wanted to share a positive update following proactive police activity in the Nine Elms and Shaftesbury & Queenstown areas. At around midday yesterday (18th), pursuit trained officers successfully identified and arrested a suspected phone robber operating locally. The individual, who was riding an e-scooter, attempted to evade police after failing to stop when directed. Following a short pursuit, officers detained the suspect on Thessaly Road, SW8. A search was carried out, during which the individual was found to be in possession of a faraday bag commonly used to conceal stolen devices, along with a suspected stolen mobile phone. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and failing to stop for police. This is a great example of officers taking swift and decisive action to target those involved in robbery and protect our community. Thank you all for your ongoing support.
