Reigate and Banstead Police Safer Neighbourhood Team
Dear Residents, Welcome to the Police Update for the last week. The message includes personal fraud (Scams), burglaries, catalytic converter and vehicle thefts reported between the 11th June 2026 to 18th June 2026. The report also includes information on arrests in the Borough.
Catalytic Converter Theft. There have been 5 reports of catalytic converter thefts in the Borough this week, with 4 being in the Redhill area. Further details are shown below in the update. Offenders are commonly targeting vehicles in residential streets and public car parks. A catalytic converter is part of a vehicle's exhaust system. They contain valuable metals that are often stolen to be sold for scrap. What to look out for: If you witness a theft, please do not intervene. Suspects may be carrying tools and could resort to violence. Your safety is our priority, please observe from a window or a safe distance and call 999. If possible, note the make, model, and registration of any suspect vehicles. Car Crime This week there have been 0 reports of a suspected theft from cars and 0 reports of attempts to gain access to vehicles. There has been 1 report of license plates being stolen. There were 41 arrests in the period June 11th 2026 to June17th 2026: Domestic Incident/Violent Domestic Abuse 7, Rape/Sexual Offence 4, Drugs 1, Violent Crime in a Public Place 6, Violent Crime other 3, Harassment/Stalking 5, Child Protection 2, Master Occurrence 1*, Burglary Residential 1, Prescribed Limit 2, Criminal Damage 1, Crime Other 4, Road Related Offence 2, Absconder/Wanted1, None of these 1. *A Master Occurrence is used when recording an arrest where a number of offences are recorded for one incident.
