Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Braybrook Court, this occurred on Wednesday 17th June. At approximately 09:00hrs, the victim heard a knock at the door while they were in the bathroom. A second, louder knock followed, prompting the victim to look through the door’s peephole. They observed a male described as having grey bushy hair, a beard and moustache, and wearing a blue coat. The male continued knocking for approximately 2–3 minutes before leaving. At 21:56hrs, the same male returned to the address and began knocking on the door again before rattling the door handle. He then attempted to insert a key into the lock, which caused the victim’s key to be knocked out of the door from the inside. The male subsequently attempted to chisel the door handle, causing damage to the door, before leaving the address.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it 2 time frames please 17th june 0845-0915am and 2145-2200hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
