Dear Residents GMP reference - 3791-180626 I am writing to in relation to the encampment that has come onto Flixton Park We are working together to manage the encampment so that it has the least impact on the community in the surrounding areas. The council has a statutory duty to carry out welfare checks on the people who are part of the encampment on local authority owned land, which will be completed as soon as practicable. There is then a legal process that must be followed to remove the encampment from the land. This involves the service of certain legal documents on the encampment with reasonable time given in between each stage of the process. If the encampment fails to move following this process, the Council must obtain a court order for removal. Whilst we are working to the shortest possible time frames, there may be a delay due to availability of the Magistrates court.
