Distraction theft - Ickenham - Can you help? |
||
Crime number: 01/7713687/26On Friday 19 June at around 1230hrs a distraction theft took place in Thorpland Avenue, Ickenham between Aylsham Drive and Tayfield Close. An woman described by the victim as Indian got out of the rear door of a white car and introduced herself to the male victim who was outdoors as "I am going to be your new neighbour from India" or words to that effect. The woman then offered the victim "a little gift from India" and put a fake gold chain around the victim's neck along with a matching bracelet. Whilst doing this and with sleight of hand she removed his real gold neck chain with cartouche charm, and his bracelet.
Action required please: If you live anywhere on the estate to the east of the High Road then please check your CCTV and video doorbells for any sightings of a white car around that time perhaps behaving suspiciously, driving slowly, or parked up near that area. Innocent vehicles are easily eliminated by the police. In particular if you live in the immediate vicinity of Thorpland Avenue between Aylsham Drive and Tayfield Close then you will almost certainly have captured information of interest to the police on CCTV systems and video doorbells. If you have any information at all that may help, please contact the police using any of the methods that are described at the bottom of our home page www.hillingdonnhw.co.uk Please then contact your local Neighbourhood Watch team at ickenhamnhw@gmail.com
This is not an isolated incident and has been reported elsewhere on our Borough and in adjacent Boroughs. | ||
