Weekly Round-Up! |
||||
Good evening Resident,
What a scorcher we're having this week, and it's only going to get hotter! Regardless of the weather our officers have been out and about on the city centre as always (even if they were a little bit sweaty😂).
Lets get to it!
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – Six arrests have been made this week for various offences, with the first being on suspicion of kidnap. Another individual was arrested for theft and criminal damage. A male was stopped by officers after being spotted by members of the public potentially witnessing a knife. The male was ‘stop/searched’ with officers recovering a knife and placing the male in custody. Two offenders were arrested for a recall to prison for their poor behaviour, and finally one last individual was arrested for a shop theft within the city centre.
Community Engagement – With neighbourhood week of action in full swing this week our officers have continued with their usual patrols and arrest attempts, as well as some extra added event carried out by PCSOs. Please keep an eye out for a future WMNow post which i will go into more detail about what we have done this week, but here a brief overview in the meantime.
Guardian Patrols – Business as usual with no special patrols this week, nice to say that all of our target areas were pretty Q.
Night-Time Economy – Chaotic can only describe how Friday night NTE went. A Spiking campaign conducted around pubs and clubs by our officers which proved to be very popular mainly amongst female partygoers with lots of resources handed out like spike testers. A joint operation with Wolverhampton Council Parking Enforcement went well mainly looking at restricted parking around Cheapside and the Billy Wright public house. With events going at The Halls and with lots of people watching the World Cup footfall was very heavy with everyone in high spirits. Saturday night was once again very busy with high footfall during the evening, luckily everyone was again in high spirits. The night did seem to quieten down at around 10pm with a lower than usual footfall for the rest of the night. Officers carried out plain clothes patrols in relation to the prevention of ‘Violence against Women and Girls’.
Other News - This week PCs Mason and Brooks made several arrest attempts during their deployment in our DA car which focusses on incidences of Domestic Violence. Some of our Public Order trained officers were drafted in to help out in Birmingham with the planned protests that were all over the news this weekend.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you look forward to the next one!
