Three males arrested in Beckton park |
Hello
Beckton residents may have heard Police sirens and seen Police on a foot chase at around 2.30pm yesterday afternoon. The response followed the quick-thinking actions of local police officers, who spotted three young men behaving suspiciously while walking along Woolwich Manor Way, near ASDA. Trusting their instincts, officers kept the group under observation and called for further units. They watched as the group approached a lone male waiting at a bus stop. Believing a robbery was about to take place, officers acted immediately, stepping in to protect the victim and prevent the suspected crime from unfolding. The three suspects fled the scene, prompting a swift pursuit. SNT along with Newham’s Proactive Team, successfully chased down and arrested all three suspects on suspicion of attempted robbery. During the arrests, one of the males was found to be carrying a knife. The incident took place near the play area in the park by Savage Gardens. While several children were present at the time, officers’ rapid intervention ensured the situation was brought under control quickly and safely. This incident highlights the vigilance and dedication of local policing teams, whose prompt actions prevented a potentially serious crime and helped keep the community safe. | ||
