Man arrested following incident in Aylsham Market Place

You might have seen some police activity in Aylsham Market Place on Friday (19 June). We can update you that a man has been arrested following an assault.

Police, including firearms officers, were called to reports of an assault at 12.26am where the victim was found with cuts from a knife.

The victim, in his 30s, was taken by ambulance to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) with serious injuries but has since been discharged following treatment.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon and dangerous driving and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.
