Appeal after man suffers serious injuries in assault

We are appealing for information after a man suffered serious injuries in an assault in the Stone area.

We were called at 12.30am yesterday (Sunday 21 June) to a bus stop on Stafford Road, near the Walton island, following reports of violence.

Two unknown men had reportedly assaulted a man, punching him to the face.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance with a serious head injury.

We are carrying out inquiries locally and are appealing to anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to get in touch.
