Criminal Damage at St Gregory’s Church, Morville

Dear Resident,

We are appealing for information following a distressing incident of criminal damage at St Gregory’s Church in Morville during the early hours of Monday 15th June.

Significant damage has been caused, including:

Broken windows — several panes were smashed, leaving glass scattered inside and outside the building.

Headstones pushed over — multiple gravestones in the churchyard were deliberately toppled, causing further upset to families and the wider community.

This behaviour shows a clear disregard for a historic local landmark and for the people who care for it.

Appeal for Information

We are asking residents to think back to the early hours of Monday 15th June. If you noticed suspicious behaviour, unusual noise, unfamiliar vehicles, or individuals loitering around the Morville area, in particular the Church, your information could be vital.

Even small details — a description, a time, a direction of travel — may help us identify those responsible.

If you have CCTV, doorbell footage, or dash‑cam recordings from around that time, please review them and get in touch if anything stands out.
