Broadstairs Patrolling |

Hello residents
I appreciate you have all been receiving several messages in the last week about the ongoing policing of Broadstairs. This morning my colleague and I were ready for the first train that arrived from out of THANET and engaged with large groups of youths that left the train and using the dispersal power that was in place, where necessary. This continued for a further 4 hours of being at the train station, walking up and down the HIGH ST and going onto the beach to engage with persons. As a result by the time I left the town and handed over to colleagues. Myself and two colleagues had issued 15 dispersal notices to teenagers. We have seized alcohol from several underage juveniles and stop searched 6 persons who had allegedly stolen from a shop. Below is a photo of just some of the alcohol taken.
Although 15 may not seem a high number, many of these people were in groups and we often find that the rest of the group will go with them once one member is dispersed. If each person had 2 or 3 friends with them the number of people who left quickly becomes higher.
This week is going to be hot, but this will not stop us from being in the town and robustly policing it. At the time of writing this message there are still some of my colleagues in the town continuing to police the dispersal.
Thank you PC 14643 ABSOLON Broadstairs Beat officer
