🚨 Community Safety Advice – Hot Weather & Home Security ☀️🔐 With the warmer weather, we often see an increase in residential burglaries, particularly where doors and windows are left open or homes appear unoccupied. Please take a few simple steps to help keep your home secure: ✅ Lock doors and windows, even when you're at home or just in the garden✅ Keep valuables out of sight, especially near open windows✅ Use timers or smart lighting if you’re out to make your home look occupied✅ Secure side gates, sheds, and garages✅ Get to know your neighbours and report any suspicious activityAt the same time, it’s important to stay safe in the heat: ☀️ Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water☀️ Avoid going out during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm if possible)☀️ Check on vulnerable neighbours, friends, and family☀️ Keep your home cool by closing curtains/blinds during the day |
