
With temperatures expected to remain high, we would like to remind residents to take extra care during the hot weather. Please look out for one another and stay safe during the warm weather. ☀️ Heatstroke: What To Do ☀️ Heatstroke is a medical emergency. It can happen when someone's body becomes dangerously overheated and can be life-threatening. 🚨 Call 999 immediately if someone: - Becomes confused or disoriented.
- Has a seizure (fit).
- Loses consciousness.
- Has very hot skin and a high temperature.
✅ While waiting for help: - Move them to a cool, shaded place.
- Remove unnecessary clothing.
- Cool them down with water, cool wet cloths, or a fan.
- Place cold packs wrapped in a cloth under the armpits, around the neck, or in the groin area.
- If they are fully conscious, offer small sips of cool water.
❌ Do not: - Leave them alone.
- Give alcohol.
- Force them to drink if they are confused or unconscious.
