Further appeal following serious assault |

We are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a man suffered serious injuries in an assault in Stone. A man had been walking with his wife and adult son on Stafford Road at 12.30am on Sunday (21 June) when they encountered two men near a bus stop, close to the Walton roundabout. The victim, a man in his 40s, was assaulted. He suffered a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain. He remains in hospital in a stable condition. The victim’s son was also assaulted by the men and suffered minor injuries. Following the assault, the suspects ran off in the direction of the underpass. One of the suspects is described as in his mid-20s, around 5ft 9ins tall, and having dark hair styled in a square-cut around his face. The second suspect is also described as being in his mid-20s with blonde hair. No further description of the suspects is known at this time. We are keen to speak to anyone who thinks they may know the suspects or anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault.
