BRINNINGTON STALL (HAF - Holiday Activities and Food) We had a stall in Brinnington on 9th March. We were invited by Manchester Police to help with Operation Vulcan. This is the first time they have requested help from us so obviously I had to accept! The police were in attendance with police cars & kit etc. and lots of other agencies. Operation Vulcan is a multi-agency Greater Manchester Police (GMP) initiative launched in 2022 to dismantle organized crime and eradicate the illegal counterfeit goods trade. Following a highly successful rollout in Cheetham Hill and Strangeways, the operation has expanded to areas like Piccadilly Gardens and Derker to tackle embedded criminality and anti-social behaviour. And now they are operating in Brinnington. Anyone living in the Brinnington area will have noticed a high police presence. For me it was a useful exercise to network with the other council agencies involved and the police. One neighbourhood officer came over to ask what Neighbourhood Watch is because he didn't know! Unfortunately though there was not much interest from the Brinnington residents, there were not that many and they had just come for a fun day out with their kids.
STOCKPORT PRIDE STALL We have booked a stall at Stockport Pride on July 26th 2026. This is going to have a much higher attendance so hopefully better success, even when only a small percentage of the 1000's that turn up take an interest. Could I please have some coordinators help on the stall so it isn't just committee members? If you are free on the day please sign up for an hour by clicking the link below. While you are there you can also spend some enjoyable time at the festival which is basically stockport carnival for everyone.
PACT MEETING (Partners and Community Together) This is your chance to moan to the police, council etc about any crimes in your area which you feel should have more attention. An example of this is the problem with offroad motorbikes where they have now got the message and are dealing with it. With the areas not covered I do whenever there opportunity complain to someone appropriate to try to get a PACT meeting organised. Here are some dates for your diary:- CENTRAL STOCKPORT (covering Brinnington, Lancashire Hill, Cheadle Heath, Edgeley, Adswood, Bridghall, Town Centre, Peel Centre, Shaw Heath, Manor, Woodbank.) BRAMHALL & CHEADLE (covering Bramhall and Woodford, Cheadle Hulme South, Cheadle Hulme North, Gatley, Heald Green, Cheadle.) HEATONS REDDISH HAZEL GROVE & MARPLE (covering Offerton, Offerton Green, Davenport, Woodsmoor, Stepping Hill, Hazel Grove, Bredbury, Woodley, Romily, Bredbury Green, Marple Bridge, Marple, High Lane.)
