This week has been an incredibly busy one. I have been working the last three days and been in the town. As you are all aware there was an incident on the beach on Wednesday. I fully appreciate the concern and distress this has caused residents. We as a community safety team have been trying our hardest to make sure the town is safe, as with every town in the country incident may occur no matter what we do. However, I will continue to make all the effort I can to stop future incidents and make sure those who cause these issues are investigated.  

Everyday this week police have been in the town. To provide some statistics on 26/06 a minimum of 18 persons were dispersed from the town and alcohol was seized for underage persons. Today I arrested a male who refused to give their details on request after being abusive to me, under sec 50 Police Reform Act 2002. I then located cannabis on their person. They were eventually dispersed from the town and issued a community resolution. 

You may have also seen special constable colleagues from the Met and City of London police were in the town today, 27/06, to provide an additional support to us. Which we are very thankful for their help.

I have had many positive conversations in the last three days and am thankful for everyone who has said hello. I noticed the beach today was much more family based. My hope is continued efforts will show youger visitors this is not a town or beach to get away with anti-social behaviour.
