Glossop SNT - Could You Volunteer to be a Cadet Leader?

Derbyshire Volunteer Police Cadets is a uniformed youth program where volunteer Cadet Leaders mentor young people aged 13–18, teaching them about policing, life skills, and citizenship. Leaders typically commit 2–4 hours a week to supervise, coach, and organize activities during term-time meetings. 

🔵 Becoming a Cadet Leader

Volunteering as a Cadet Leader provides a direct opportunity to inspire local youth while gaining unique insight into police operations. No prior policing experience is required, as full training and support are provided.

🔵 Role Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or over.

• Must have lived in the UK for the past three years.

• Basic IT skills for communication and scheduling.

• Enthusiasm to mentor young people and a reliable commitment to weekly meetings

🔵 Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and facilitating term-time sessions and team-building exercises.

• Supporting cadets through community events, social action projects, and Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) awards.

• Assisting officers with specialized training exercises and police campaigns

• Derbyshire Constabulary recruits Volunteer Police Cadet Leaders on an ongoing basis across several locations in the county, including Derby, Ripley, Chesterfield, and paritcularly Glossop
