🚨 Catalytic Converter Theft Warning – East Peckham 🚨 Kent Police have received a number of reports of catalytic converter thefts in the East Peckham area. Catalytic converters contain valuable precious metals, making them a target for opportunistic thieves. Theft can happen in just a few minutes and often results in significant repair costs for vehicle owners.
How to Protect Your Vehicle✅ Park in a garage whenever possible. ✅ If using a driveway, park close to walls, fences or other vehicles to make access underneath your vehicle more difficult. ✅ If in a public car park, choose a well-lit area covered by CCTV where available. ✅ Consider fitting a catalytic converter protection device, shield or clamp. ✅ Ensure your vehicle's alarm is activated and consider additional security measures such as motion-activated lighting and CCTV. ✅ Mark your catalytic converter with a forensic marking product and display warning stickers to deter thieves. ✅ Be vigilant and report any suspicious people or vehicles seen loitering around parked vehicles, particularly during the late evening or early morning hours.
