Community Safety Alert – Keyless Vehicle Theft Prevention

Dear Residents,

🚨 Shaw & Crompton, Oldham

We have seen an increase in incidents involving the theft of keyless entry vehicles across the Oldham area.

Offenders are using electronic devices to relay signals from vehicle keys kept inside homes, enabling them to unlock and steal vehicles without having possession of the actual key.

Help protect your vehicle:

✅ Keep vehicle keys away from doors, windows and letterboxes.
✅ Store keys in a Faraday pouch or signal-blocking container.
✅ Always check your vehicle is locked when leaving it unattended.
✅ Use additional security such as a steering wheel lock.
✅ Park in well-lit areas, garages, or locations covered by CCTV where possible.
✅ Ensure your vehicle's security software is up to date.

If you notice suspicious individuals loitering around vehicles or residential properties, please report it. Intelligence from the community plays a vital role in preventing crime.
