Community Alert – Keyless Car Theft

We are advising residents in the **Sholver and Derker areas of Oldham** of a recent spike in **keyless car theft**.

Offenders are using technology to gain access to vehicles without the physical key, often targeting cars parked on driveways or outside homes.

Please take a moment to help protect your vehicle:

• Keep car keys and fobs away from doors and windows  

• Store keys in a **Faraday pouch** or signal-blocking container  

• Ensure vehicles are locked and alarms are activated  

• Consider using steering wheel locks or additional security devices  

• Check your vehicle’s settings for keyless entry options (some can be disabled)

 Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity in your area.
