Dear Residents, Here’s a brief snippet of what our Smethwick Neighbourhood Team have been up to this week: St Pauls PCSO’s have attended a multi-agency meeting at West Smethwick Park Pavilion centre, working together to improving the area of Smethwick and to keep on offering reassuring the local communities of Smethwick. Smethwick neighbourhood officers conducted reassurance visits to our local residential areas engaging with the community having conversations about concerns around anti-social behaviour issues in the area which now have been addressed. Patrols in St Pauls retail Park West Cross shopping centre have been taking place and speaking to our local members of the community around any Anti-Social Behaviour that they may be experiencing, Advice was given, and this advice was accepted, working together with our local businesses to help the communities thrive. Smethwick town PCSOs have been to visit local retailers’ local businesses in detecting and preventing any Anti-Social Behaviour taking place. Patrols to our places of faith have been conducted spoken to local communities who attend the faith anyone had any questions or concerns they spoke to us for us to help our local communities with advice and reassurance. Local PCSO’s have conducted a drop-in police surgery at Smethwick library talking to the local people offering support and advice to those who ask for it. Smethwick town PCSO’s have conducted visits to places of worship across St Pauls and Bearwood reassuring our local communities who attend our local places of worship. Patrols of our local parks have been conducted as we have had some reports of off-road bikes being on the grass area and we have moved them on and reassured our local communities who attend the park or local dog walkers and parents who bring the children and families to this open space. Smethwick town officers have conducted a cuppa with a copper at the Brasshouse community centre. This is an opportunity for local members of the community who attend this community centre to share their concerns with us, or we can support where needed or contacted partnership agency like the council to offer the best possible support and solutions. High visibility patrols have been conducted throughout early morning around Bearwood and St Pauls Street reassuring local businesses communities in addressing issues of rough sleepers in the area offering them support and reassurance. Local police officer to available to residents meeting about issues and how to support them for long-term intervention working together to keep our communities. |
