|
The weather is due to get warmer again, here is some advice.
Drink plenty of water: Consume fluids regularly even if you do not feel thirsty.
Avoid dehydrating drinks: Limit alcohol, caffeine, and hot drinks which increase fluid loss.
Wear appropriate clothing: Choose loose, lightweight, and light-coloured clothes to reflect heat.
Apply high-factor sunscreen: Use a minimum of SPF 30 with good UVA protection regularly.
Protect your head and eyes: Wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses outside.
Close windows and blinds: Keep them shut during daytime peaks when the outside air is hotter than inside. Open windows at night: Let cooler night air circulate once the outside temperature drops.
Turn off unnecessary electronics: Computers, televisions, and extra lights generate additional indoor heat.
Use fans safely: Place a bowl of ice in front of a fan to circulate cooler air.
