Trailer Recovered Thanks to Vigilant Farmer |
||
|
Good evening everyone,
Officers from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) and West Mercia Police's Rural Crime Team have successfully recovered a stolen trailer after acting on information provided by a vigilant local farmer.
The farmer contacted police after discovering an Ifor Williams trailer hidden within a hedgerow on farmland in the Martin Hussingtree area.
Officers attended the location and recovered the trailer, which was suspected to have been stolen.
Following the recovery, the Rural Crime Team carried out further enquiries and were able to identify the trailer as one that had been stolen just a few days earlier. Thanks to these investigations, the trailer has now been reunited with its rightful owner.
PC Mike Roberts from the Rural Crime Team said:
"This is a great example of the positive impact that members of our rural communities can have by reporting suspicious activity or items found on their land. We would like to thank the farmer for their vigilance and quick action, which has helped us recover stolen property and return it to its owner.
Trailer theft remains an issue across rural areas, and we would encourage owners to take every opportunity to improve the security of their property."

Trailer owners are reminded to take steps to reduce the risk of theft by considering additional security measures such as:
Hitch locks and wheel clamps
CCTV and security lighting where appropriate
The public can find further crime prevention advice through the Secured by Design initiative, the official police security initiative, at: Secured by Design – Crime Prevention Advice
