Parking Considerately Saves Lives
Late Tuesday morning Bardon Beat officers were conducting patrols around Broom Leys Primary School, during these patrols a number of poorly parked vehicles caught their attention.
On speaking to staff members, it was explained that the school were holding an event. Whilst it was great to see the event well attended, it was disappointing to see some of the poor parking.
We’re asking all drivers to think twice before parking.
Vehicles parked on corners, across driveways, on pavements, near junctions, or blocking emergency access create serious hazards for everyone. Inconsiderate parking can obstruct the view of pedestrians and other road users, force people into the road, delay emergency services, and make it difficult for larger vehicles to pass safely.
Please remember: Park legally and responsibly.
Keep pavements clear for pedestrians, wheelchair users, and parents with pushchairs. Never block access for emergency vehicles. Leave enough space near junctions and crossings so everyone has a clear view.
Our officers will continue to patrol areas where dangerous and obstructive parking is reported. Where appropriate, enforcement action may be taken.
A few extra moments to park safely can help prevent collisions, protect vulnerable road users, and keep our communities moving.
If you witness dangerous or obstructive parking that poses an immediate risk to safety, please report it to the police. For non-emergency concerns, you can also report parking issues to your local authority where applicable.
Thank you for helping to keep our roads safe for everyone.
