Keep Your Home Secure This Summer |
||
|
As the warmer weather continues, many of us enjoy opening windows and doors to let fresh air into our homes. However, opportunistic criminals can take advantage of unsecured properties, particularly during the daytime and overnight.
Simple Steps to Protect Your Home
✅ Always lock doors when leaving your property, even if it's only for a short time. ✅ Ensure ground-floor windows are closed and secured when you are not in the room or leaving the house. ✅ Avoid leaving valuables such as mobile phones, laptops, handbags, keys, or wallets visible through windows. ✅ Keep garden gates secure and store ladders and tools away, as these can be used to gain access to your property. ✅ Consider using timer switches for lights when away from home to give the impression that someone is at home.
Remember, many burglaries occur through unlocked doors and open windows. Taking a few moments to secure your home can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
