Dear Residents, June has been another busy month for the neighbourhood team, with work ranging from tackling criminal activity to supporting local residents and engaging with young people in our community. Here are some of the highlights from the past month:
Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour – Knock & Run Incidents During June, we worked alongside local schools to identify a group of young people involved in ongoing "knock and run" incidents that had been causing significant fear and distress to an elderly resident. By speaking with schools and carrying out enquiries, we were able to address the issue and provide reassurance to those affected. While these incidents may seem like harmless fun to some, they can have a serious impact on vulnerable members of our community, and we will continue to take reports like these seriously. Positive Drugs Warrant – Cannabis Factory Dismantled A significant result this month saw officers execute a positive warrant at a property where a cannabis cultivation was discovered. The operation resulted in: A cannabis factory being dismantledA large quantity of cannabis being seizedFurther disruption of criminal activity within our communityThis kind of proactive work helps remove illegal drugs from our streets and demonstrates our continued commitment to tackling organised crime in the area. All Saints School Visit – 'People Who Help Us' One of the highlights of the month was a visit to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) pupils at All Saints School. As part of their "People Who Help Us" topic, we spent time talking to the children about the role of the police and how we help keep people safe. The pupils had the opportunity to: Meet local PCSOsExplore the police vanTake a look inside the rear cell areaAsk lots of fantastic questionsThe children were incredibly enthusiastic, and it's always a pleasure to help young people build positive relationships with the police from an early age. Supporting Our Local Allotment Community We also spent time visiting a local allotment site following concerns raised by plot holders. During the visit we: Spoke with allotment usersOffered crime prevention and security adviceProvided reassurance and discussed local concernsThe allotment community plays an important role in bringing people together, and we will continue to maintain close contact with users to help address any future issues and ensure they feel supported. Staying Connected Whether we're carrying out investigations, executing warrants, engaging with schools, or supporting local community groups, our aim is always the same: to make our neighbourhoods safer and help residents feel reassured and informed. Thank you to everyone who has stopped to speak with us this month. If you see us out and about, please come and say hello. We are always happy to have a chat and hear about what's important to you.
