Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.

This motorbike may be linked to crime outside of Burbage, this bike has since been recovered by Police. Please be mindful if you have a motorbike, ensure they are locked and secure and ideally in a garage/out of sight. Please use trackers and heavy-duty chains, ideally secured to flooring.

Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
Following patrols in the area, a vehicle was stopped near the Hansom cab area at 01:30. Vehicle seized, and driver summoned due to driving with a revoked license, no MOT or insurance.
One motorist arrested at 23:45 on Bridge Road following a road traffic incident in the area. Driver arrested under section 4, unfit through drink or drugs.
We have been spending time patrolling areas raised as concerns by residents due to potential drug use, anti-social behaviour and burglary. Locations include Azalea Drive area, Britannia Fields and the Three pots estate.
We attended the Burbage Big Bash on Sunday. It was a fantastic family day which was really well attended. It was great to see and speak to residents and offer crime reduction support.
We visited the Burbage community library, where we spoke to residents around a range of issues. Subjects discussed include parking and residential burglary. If you organise, or are part of a community group in Burbage, and would like an input from us, please get in touch. We appreciate all opportunities to meet and help residents that we wouldn’t normally get to engage with. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
As stated above, please be mindful of motorbike thefts and vehicle thefts. Whilst overall figures are low, there have been several attempts over recent weeks.
We are continuing our pro-active work regarding awareness around burglary and vehicle crime. We will be visiting selected areas over the coming weeks where we will support with home and vehicle crime reduction methods. This work is being done in the run up to the summer holidays and a bit of early work in preparation for the darker nights, where particularly residential burglary can increase. If you have a street or area of concern, let me know and we will plan in some additional time there.
Thank you and take care.
