Adam Beavan, 32, of Selborne Road, Worcester, was convicted of burglary dwelling with intent to steal, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving other than in accordance with a licence and affray. Beavan was sentenced to 21 months for the burglary offence which took place at a property in Broadwas, Worcestershire on 7 April this year, where a window was smashed, the property was ransacked and sentimental jewellery was stolen. He was sentenced to six months consecutively for the driving offence which took place on 21 March where he deliberately drove a car into a property on Montpellier Close in Worcester. He was also banned from driving for 29 months. On 3 February, Beavan repeatedly punched a man outside Co-op in Dines Green where he also wielded a broken bottle towards the man as well as picking up a large advertising sign and throwing it through the store’s door nearly hitting a wheelchair user. He was convicted of affray for this incident for which he was sentenced to eight months in prison to run consecutively – a total of 35 months for the three offences.
Allton was sentenced to 16 months in prison, Doulton Biddle was sentenced to 15 months in a young offenders’ institution and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187 and Leon Biddle was sentenced to 12 months in a young offenders’ institution, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187.
“Burglaries are an intrusive crime that can have long-lasting effects on victims and West Mercia Police take such offences very seriously. “In Beavan’s case, his further driving and affray offences also caused much alarm and fear for his victims which was rightly reflected in his consecutive prison terms.”
