Local Priorities Mobile phone theft Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On 03/07/2026, a member of the public reported that their mobile phone had been stolen on Comber Grove, SE5. Subsequently, on 06/07/2026, a local resident contacted Camberwell Green SNT via email to report that they had found a mobile phone inside a raised flower bed in laird house SE5.

Following enquiries, PCSO Cloud conducted checks on the device, identified the owner through the previously submitted theft report, and successfully arranged for the phone to be returned to them.

We suggest that you register the serial number of valuables including phones, for free, with crime prevention charity www.Immobilise.com they allow you to list the serial numbers of all your valuable property on their secure database. The benefit of doing this is that it allows lost or stolen property to be traced back to you and proves ownership when we stop people with suspected stolen goods. You’ll need your Phones serial number (IMEI) and you can obtain this by typing *#06# on your phone dialling screen
