Appeal after man stabbed on St Saviours Road, Alum Rock |
Dear Resident,
We wanted to let you know that we’re investigating after a man in his 60s was stabbed in Birmingham last night. We were called to St Saviours Road in Alum Rock, at around 11.55pm yesterday (7 July). It’s believed he had been attacked by a number of men, who were described as Asian and wearing masks. He remains in hospital today. Our investigation is at an early stage, and officers remain at the scene carrying out forensic and CCTV enquiries, and speaking to people in the area. Det Ch Insp Jim Mahon, of Birmingham Police, said: “We understand this is worrying for people in the area, and local officers will be remaining there to speak to anyone with concerns over the coming days. “There is currently nothing to suggest any connection with any other recent incidents in the area, but we are keeping an open mind about the motivation for what has happened. “Our priority right now is identifying those responsible and bringing them in to custody as quickly as possible, and officers have been working overnight to gather evidence and speak to potential witnesses.” Anyone who saw what happened, or who has footage from the area, should call us on 101 or speak to us via Live Chat on our website quoting log 6513 of 7 July. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or doorbell footage. You can also speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
Thank you for your help. | ||
