SKIRLAUGH: Community event with the Parish Council

Dear Resident

A big thank you to everyone who took part in our Community Litter Pick at the Jubilee Wood this morning.

In total, 8 litter pickers gave their time to help tidy up Jubilee Wood and the surrounding nature trail, collecting fifteen bags of rubbish over the course of the session. Your efforts have made a real, visible difference to a much‑used area of the village.

We did notice a large number of cardboard boxes and polystyrene packaging , particularly in the far corner of the trail, which could easily be set alight to. This highlights the importance of working together to look after our shared spaces.

Skirlaugh Parish Council is very grateful to everyone who came along and helped. Community efforts like this play an important role in keeping the village clean, safe, and welcoming.

Another community litter pick will be taking place soon, so please keep an eye on the village website, social media, and newsletter for further details.
